I have a hard time resolving myself to the fact that baking stones (and cast iron skillets) are not meant to be washed (at least not with soap, which is what I call being "washed"). I continue to use my baking stone, but whenever I go to "clean" it, I get a tiny bit squeamish. As I consider my stone I think (with a slight grimace), "Look! My baking stone is so dirty now that nothing sticks to it at all!"
Does anyone else feel this way?
